  • Ghostly International will release the fourth Telefon Tel Aviv album, Dreams Are Not Enough, this September. Dreams Are Not Enough is Telefon Tel Aviv's first album in a decade—the first record by Josh Eustis under the moniker after the sudden passing of founding member Charlie Cooper in 2009. Having spent the time since working on other musical projects and producing for the likes of Nine Inch Nails, Apparat and Vatican Shadow, Eustis decided to revive the alias after "years of reflection and processing." The album's track titles refer to a recurring dream that has haunted Eustis since childhood, based on a "murky incident during a family vacation to a remote Alabama coastline," according to the press release. As a whole, Dreams Are Not Enough is meant to "evoke a sense of emptiness" and act as "a document as much of what's not there as what remains." The new record follows Ghostly International's 2017 reissue of Telefon Tel Aviv's second album, Map Of What Is Effortless, as well as a track on 79Ancestor's Territories compilation from the same year. Telefon Tel Aviv will play Ghostly International's 20th anniversary party in San Francisco on September 28th. Listen to "standing at the bottom of the ocean;."
