  • Chants is back on Astral Plane Recordings with a new EP due out later this month. Seven Spheres was inspired in part by the Madison-based producer's "experience working in the New Orleans second line tradition," mixed with "an acute passion for all forms of rhythmic acceleration," according to the press release. The EP was recorded at home with the artist's friends, initially improvised and then "rigorously gridded out for DJ play." This is Chants' fourth solo release for Astral Plane, following Carious Motion, Amethyst Dust and The Zookeeper. Listen to "Assiah Dance."
