The LP, out in September, takes up "the idea of dismantling the dance floor-centric pressure paradigm."
Recorded in the winter of 2018 during the Berlin-based artist's "annual creative hibernation practice," Face To Phase takes up "the idea of dismantling the dance floor-centric pressure paradigm" and finds her "stripping back to fundamentals." The eight tracks span a myriad of genres—dub, house, breakbeat—and were "sparked by" rRoxymore's archive of field recordings. Opener "Home Is Where The Music Is" was inspired by her longtime friend Planningtorock.
Face To Phase follows over a decade of live performance and touring, collaboration and composition. It's rRoxymore's fourth release for Don't Be Afraid, after Organ Smith and Thoughts Of An Introvert, Parts 1 & 2. She will premiere a new live performance collaboration with a percussionist at Berlin Atonal on September 1st.
