  • Point Blank Music School and Resident Advisor are teaming up again to offer a music scholarship for UK-based DJs and producers. The Young Producers Scholarship is free to apply and open to applicants aged 18-25. It aims to provide a unique platform for a new generation of electronic music DJs and producers, with a focus on young artists who might not otherwise have the opportunity to pursue their passion. The winner will study the nine-month CertHE Music Production & DJ Practice course, which is taught at Point Blank's East London studios. In a maximum class size of 16, they will study sound design and engineering, as well as have access to production software, industry guidance and Pioneer DJ equipment. Valued at £9,000, the course is accredited by Middlesex University and is equivalent to the first year of a degree course, should the candidate choose to progress. Candidates who don't wish to pursue the academic degree will still received the same guidance, instruction and access. To apply, complete the CertHE application form, stating that you want to be considered for the RA scholarship scheme. The written application should include a CV and/or cover letter that highlights your relevant musical experience and lists your artist social media profiles (SoundCloud, Facebook, Instagram, Mixcloud) to showcase your strongest mix and/or productions. The deadline for applications is November 15th, 2019. Both Point Blank and RA will review and assess all applications after the deadline. Successful applicants will be notified by December 16th, 2019. Unfortunately, we cannot reply to every applicant so, if you have not heard from us by December 16th, please consider your scholarship application unsuccessful. Listen to a mix by last year's scholarship winner, Tailor Jae, and read about her experience at Point Blank in this interview. She's played for Rinse FM, Keep Hush UK and recently put out a track on L U C Y's new label, SZNS7N, with Traces.
