Kamaal Williams mixes the 70th instalment of DJ-Kicks

- Kamaal Williams will mix the next instalment of !K7's DJ-Kicks series. The London multi-instrumentalist, who also records as Henry Wu and as Yussef Kamaal with Yussef Dayes, has included tracks from artists like Karriem Riggins, Max Graef, Peven Everett, Lone and Steven Julien in his addition to the series, which is "not traditionally mixed or predictably sequenced," according to the press release. The mix also features four exclusive tracks by Williams – "Wivout U" (under the Henry Wu alias), a live version of 2018's "Snitches Brew" and new tracks "Shinjuku" and "Strings (ATL)." "The main aim of this mix for me was to give praise and pay my dues to the forefathers, the originators [of] London's underground scene," Williams says. "From the likes of Dego, Seiji and Steve Spacek, through to contemporaries like K15, Tenderlonious or myself, it's about connecting the lineage and giving respect to the creators—those undervalued heroes of this British dance landscape who deserve more recognition today." The next months see a busy touring schedule for Williams, with live dates in Brazil, Europe and the US.
