  • Joy Orbison has a new EP out next week. Appearing on record store websites last week, Slipping is now confirmed to arrive through Hinge Finger, which Peter O'Grady runs with Will Bankhead, on October 18th. The EP features collaborations with Mansur Brown, KEYAH/BLU and Infinite. Joy O shares the story behind the EP's art.
The cover is a picture of my nan in London some time in the '70s, lovely right? This photo really makes me smile, my mum summed it up the best tho—"Washing on the line, empty pond and my mum doing the three things she loved the most: sunbathing, smoking and a glass of something." There's clearly a lot to learn here (get pissed in the garden more), but I see it as a reminder to make the most of what you have.
This will be Joy O's first new tracks of the year. Last month, he shared his back catalogue on digital and streaming platforms for the first time, and in May, he released the DJ tool 12-inch 50 Locked Grooves. Listen to "Burn" featuring Mansur Brown and Infinite.
