  • Ghostly International will release a new compilation this Friday. Thousands Of Eyes In The Dark follows in the tradition of the label's SMM releases, 2011's Context and 2013's Opiate. The acronym is undefined but refers to "calm, slow-moving music that straddles the synthetic/organic divide," according to the press release. Artists featured on the compilation include Tadd Mullinix, Sarah Davachi, Space Afrika, Emily A. Sprague and Suzanne Kraft under his SK U Kno alias. Grand River's contribution, "This Was Us," was improvised on a Yamaha DX7 and references the dissolution of a relationship. "I just sat with the instrument and started to play," she said. "I kind of needed a moment to myself." Ghostly International will continue to celebrate its 20th anniversary with upcoming parties in Chicago and Detroit. Listen to "Mesa" by Emily A. Sprague.
