The queer party promoter will launch emergency advocacy campaigns for LGBT+ rights in Poland, Chechnya and beyond.
The new partnership was launched by All Out, Homobloc and Gideön. The festival will raise funds for LGBT+ communities confronting right-wing attacks in Poland and other European countries facing waves of neo-facism. Funds will also be used to support campaigns for LGBT+ shelters and counselling hotlines and supply activists with their own campaign strategies.
"We are seeing an alarming regression in public attitudes towards LGBTQI people in Europe, most notably in Poland and Chechnya," Midland who is DJing at the festival, says. "Our very existence is still a crime in 72 countries. Our message is clear. We stand with our persecuted siblings around the world, and we will not stop until every human has the right to love freely."
The one-day event goes down on November 9th at Manchester venue the Depot. It'll be staffed by All Out volunteers and R3 Soundsystem go-go dancers, who will fundraise throughout the night. In addition to Midland, Homobloc's lineup features the likes of Honey Dijon, Hunee, Todd Terje, Róisín Murphy, Robyn (who will DJ), and many more.
