  • The international hit Out of Order this Friday 16 January with Stereo 8 and John Stapleton representing the overseas breakbeat club Blowpop. Stereo 8 burst out onto the breaks scene in 2002 with the mammoth "Groove Diggin'", which was picked up by Soul Of Man for their Finger Lickin' label. Since then they've followed it up with the equally huge "Flipmode/Get Above Yourself", showing they could do tough as well as funky. This is their first trip to Australia and we've been warned to expect fresh unreleased tracks! While John Stapleton might not be a household name the CD series he's responsible for is if you know and love your beats. This is your chance to catch the man behind the fantastic Dope is Plastic series. Over the course of eight albums, these charted the evolution of break-based music from 'trip hop' to 'big beat' and beyond to the many hybrids of today. John covers rare groove to big beat, funk, soul, jazz, disco and hip hop in his sets, and is in a word Dope. Tickets for this one are $15 and available on the door only at the Lounge. Doors open from 11pm. The residents Ben Shepherd, Nick Thayer are on support with Gsan as well.
