Rock the Vote, the youth based imitative which encourages young people to vote, have announced a nationwide tour with world renowned artist and musician Paul Van Dyk. Rock the Vote President Jehmu Greene announced the tour to more than 50,000 people at Ultra Fest, the pre-Winter Music Conference festival in Miami. The Ultra Fest also featured the world premier of a new Rock the Vote public service announcement featuring Paul Van Dyk.
Paul Van Dyk, who grew up living in politically uncertain times in East Germany expressed his joy in been asked to take part in the tour:"I am very excited to be part of the Rock the Vote campaign 2004. Since I grew up behind the Iron Curtain I know what it is like to live without the option to vote. The freedom to make a choice is the basic principle of our democratic world. I hope through my involvement to encourage as many as possible to register to vote in the 2004 presidential election."
The Rock the Vote/Paul Van Dyk 11 date tour kicks off on April 14 in Atlanta and will circle through the country delivering the message of voter empowerment to the legions of electronic music fans across the country. Rock the Vote Community Street Team members will be on hand to register voters and sell the newly unveiled tour t-shirts, the proceeds from which go to Rock the Vote. Full tour dates as follows.
