Merv Pepler and Joie Hinton as Eat Static have been at the forefront of the techno/electronica genre since its infancy, forming Eat Static in 1990 originally as a side project. Their first two recordings, "Abduction" and "Implant", introduced their pioneering blend of soaring trance grooves, sci-fi techno soundscapes and extraterrestrial imagery to early supporters of underground dance music. Eat Static was one of the very first live techno groups, debuting at the 'orbital' raves in the early 90's. Since then, they have played all over the UK and Europe, as a major attraction at festivals such as Glastonbury.
Other acts announced to play in the first round were 1200 mics (live, Ibiza/U.K), Hallucinogen (live, U.K), Younger Brother (live, U.K), Prometheus (live, U.K), Simon Posford (Shpongled dj set/U.K), Dj Lucas (U.K), Raja Ram (U.K), Salmonella Dub (live, N.Z), Son Kite (live, Sweden), and GMS (live, Ibiza).
