A new concept compilation series will be launched in October that will feature the ‘Most Rated’ artists of the year as voted by the public, DJ’s, labels and industry pundits. Defected Records are behind a project they describe as ‘an independent brand’ which will see the double mix CD and bonus Multimedia DVD released later this year featuring old and fresh unheard cuts. Speaking about the project Defected reveal: This will be regarded as the definitive round up of the best tunes of the year voted for by your most respected DJ’s, labels and dance music decision makers. The collection will include special previously unreleased mixes of some of clublands best loved tracks.
The selection process doesn’t stop there. The compilation will be subject to a public vote and you the listener will be able to vote easily and contribute the final outcome. It is your choices that will inevitably determine the overall selection. This series is designed to reflect what the people really think are the true tracks and remixes that cut through dancefloors in the year.
The categories include Most Rated male and female vocalist, most rated producer, most rated dance act, most rated album and more. Voting will be conducted by post or on the web. Voting will close August 31st 04. And if just voting for your favourites wasn’t enough, by voting you go into the drawer for a trip to Ibiza for the Defected In The House closing party at El Divino on the 17th September.
