Over the past few weeks, the UK press has jumped on the story of the British Prime Minister Tony Blair’s new home purchase. The entertaining side to the story, is that as the address splattered everywhere from BBC’s News to The Guardian, The Scotsman and The Mirror - a relatively quiet little garden square in Marble Arch off Edgeware Road, Connaught Square is right next door to England's most commercially successful DJ – the one we know as Oakey.
Blair paid an estimated £3.5 million for the property, of similar value to that of Paul Oakenfold’s place. And after commenting in Mixmag last year saying, "I don't understand why people wonder how much money other people are earning, I wasn’t given the job (of DJing) - I’m exactly the same as them"- he can't be all too happy about the details of his wealth scattered all over the press, not to mention the step up security you would expect around his house.
