  • Cup Eve activities are on the minds on many in Melbourne as the day approaches on Monday November 1. Drum'n'bass heads are sorted though with the news that Micky Finn and Aphrodite (UK, Moving Shadow/Urban Takeover) have now been added to the already excellent lineup of Hospital Records Nu:Tone (UK) and MC Wrec (UK) at First Floor. The Terrain Crew of Motive & Sean, plus Joe Seven will be representing local sounds. Possibly the freshest new drum'n'bass producer presently touring the globe, Hospital Records' own NU:TONE is coming direct from Cambridge, with his vocal mate, the genius MC WREC for a whirlwind rinse of Australia! Nu:Tone's trademark style of smooth grooves, rolling rhythms and brand:nu funk was nurtured over years of radio, club nights and engineering duties for revered jungle don John B. Nu:tone's releases on imprints like Hospital, Beta, Chihuahua, Tangent, New ID, Soul:R and his own label 'Brand Nu' has seen global players taking a more than keen interest in his sound. Alongside High Contrast and Calibre, Nu:Tone is part of the wave of the freshest drum'n'bass being produced, breathing sweet life back into steely sessions. MC Wrec returns after last visiting with London Elektricity, where he hyped the masses to full effect! Following on from this expect Micky and Aphro to roll out a late set of purely old school jungle classics. Presale tickets are $25 and available only from www.sjooshi.com . Doors open from 9pm and a late license until 5am has been sorted. BOH! For fans of Micky and Aphrodite in other parts of the country and NZ, check the dates for this visit to your city below.
