Melbourne fans of the talented and unique sound of Matthew Herbert aka Herbert should get their new 2005 calendar out! Reserve the date of Sunday 30 January as Matthew Herbert will be appearing at Honkytonks.
Herbert has to be close to a workaholic, DJing, producing, remixing under the names of Herbert, Dr Rockit, Wishmountain, Radio Boy and The Matthew Herbert Big Band. He's done music for film, TV, dance companies and the theatre. And best of all, once you hear his music in the right surroundings, you're hooked.
Recently Matthew Herbert has been performing his first show of his new 'Plat Du Jour' project at the Queen Elizabeth Hall in London and the Pompidou Centre in Paris. 'Plat Du Jour' itself is being cooked up currently in the studio, and will be out sometime before the summer of 2005. Matthew has also been doing production work for Roisin Murphy of Moloko on a collection of three 12"s to be released by Echo at the beginning of the next year.
