  • Michael Mayer (Germany, Kompakt) is well known as the figure-head of independent record distributor Kompakt, and a purveyor of the European “minimal techno phenomenon”. Many credit him with “making techno interesting again”. While Mayer's Fabric mix CD last year and new Fabric residency have propelled him into the limelight, he has been DJing and producing for over 13 years. For those in the know it is his earlier mix CDs such as “Immer”, and his instant-classic productions such as “Love is Stronger than Pride” and “Speaker” that have earned his stripes, not to mention his inspiring DJ sets that dominate cyber space and the club floor. Late January sees Mayer taking in a four date tour across Australia and New Zealand to promote his debut solo album, “Touch”, which is in stores now, and making waves across Europe and the rest of the world through its complexity and diversity. Catch him while you can! Michael Mayer Australian & NZ Tour: 23 January - Melbourne, Rainbow Serpent Festival 25 January - Melbourne, Honkytonks 28 January - Sydney, Glitch 29 January - Auckland, Fu Bar
