  • Breakbeat fans can jump for joy with the news that producer and DJ Chris Carter is touring in June, visiting four capital cities (see below for dates). Based in London, Chris learnt his engineering skills whilst at the legendary On U Sound working with the likes of Adrian Sherwood, Little Axe, Asian Dub Foundation, Audio Active and Bim Sherman. Since branching out to produce his own music in 1997, beginning with a release on a Guy Called Gerald’s Juice Box imprint, he has released a steady stream of tough but musical breaks on the UK breaks scene. Chris Carter's tracks have been included on the ‘Botchit Breaks’ albums, ’Modernizm’ mixed by BLIM, ‘Nu Breed’ mixed by Lee Burridge, Y4K mixed by Koma&Bones and TCR50. Chris Carter has collaborated with BLIM on a track for his debut album and is working on material with Vlad from Breakneck and is in the process of making more tunes for Secret Agent – on a down tempo tip. He’s just teamed up with JHz to form ‘Rockziller’ and he's frequently found in Rennie Pilgrem's studio where his drumming and beat programming skills are called upon to augment Pilgrem's remixes. Chris has now established himself as a popular DJ and has toured all over Europe aswell as the USA and Australia. In Melbourne, Chris will be headlining 33&1/3 with drum'n'bass DJ Matrix on Sunday 12 June (Queen's Birthday long weekend)at The Hi Fi Bar. The mainroom will feature Chris Carter, Matrix, Lynt, Blueprint (live), Sean, Motive and Ruxpin. Upstairs will feature Jesse I & Ras Crucial, Paz, Gsan, Ooi and Ben Stacey on decks.
