  • Last year's Lake of Stars Festival comes to life at Liverpool's Fact next Thursday in a special screening of a one-hour documentary charting the incredible 3-day musical event in southern Africa and all the behind-the-scenes action. Set by the shimmering waters of Lake Malawi, 200 people from the UK travelled to southern Africa and became part of an incredible and unique event which captured the hearts and minds of all. Local Malawian musicians joined forces with British DJs - including Groove Armada's Andy Cato - and made history; the festival given Malawi's top tourism award for 2004. The documentary is essential viewing for anyone wishing to learn more about Malawi and the second Lake of Stars Festival, which takes place in September later this year. The screening takes place on Thursday 26th May at Fact at 88 Wood Street, Liverpool. Doors open at 7:30pm with the documentary taking centre stage from 8pm. After the screening, an after party will take place in the Barfly Loft (Masque Theater) in Seel Street with some of Liverpool's finest turntablists, rounding out the night to 2am.
