  • Norwegian duo Svein Berge and Torbjorn Brundtland, or Röyksopp in the public’s eyes, have finally completed the follow-up to their acclaimed 2002 debut release “Melody A.M.” The new long-player which will once again be released under the Astralwerks banner and will be titled The Understanding. For the most part, Röyksopp have kept a low-key profile in the last twelve months, having been working steadily on the album material. Those of you who fell in love with their first album that fluttered with blissful dreamy soundscapes, frosty vocals, and lush melodies will perhaps be wanting to see them again re-ignite a yearning of ambient overtones. On “The Understanding,” will Röyksopp continue where they left off or take us down an entirely different road? The first to find out will be Röyksopp fans in Japan, where the album will have its initial release on June 22nd. Those in the UK or outside the US will have to wait until June 27th and June 28th respectively with the release in-stores in the US a few weeks later on July 12th. The Röyksopp lads will also be touring in support of the album. Currently, only three dates in the US have been officially announced with more to follow soon.
