Following New Order and The Pet Shop Boys in any capacity is a tall order. To do it within a time tested and globally respected mix series is an even greater achievement. Brighton based breaks don Adam Freeland has that responsibility as he serves up the next installment of the Back To Mine series.
To follow them without being over shadowed each record has been re-edited by Adam including tracks by artists such as Interpol, M83, TV On The Radio, Elliot Smith, PJ Harvey, Beta Band, EL-P, Boards Of Canada and Trail Of The Dead. Speaking about being asked to compile a Back To Mine, Adam is dutifully excited:"When asked to compile this Back to Mine, I initially starting scouring my record collection for my favourite records of all time and those that have had the biggest influence on my style. But where do you start? There has been dozens of amazing compilations by dj's and artists citing their influences. The gauntlet was truly set as to who can pull out the dopest, rarest and most obscure gems. So I just decided to 'Do what it says on the tin' and put together a list of tracks that I'm playing back at my place on Marine Parade in Brighton right now. Some old some new, some well known, some more obscure, but all by artists who I'm totally in love with. This is a snapshot of some of my favourite tracks that are keeping my neighbors up right now. I have compiled the mix to start all guns blazing, as you would want to hear arriving back home steaming after a big night, then, as the evening progresses, it gradually mellows out to end up as a stoned, horizontal, blissfull haze."
