London's Studio 338 pledges to be more environmentally sustainable with new TreeTree8 initiative

- The Greenwich club is banning single-use plastics, banning palm oil and cleaning products with harsh chemicals, switching to renewable energy sources and donating 1 percent of profits to Rainforest Trust UK.
- "Running events takes a lot of energy, from DJs and artist flights to ground transport to lights and sound," Studio 338's music and events director Dan Perrin said. "We are conscious that we are leading the next generation in event standards, and we feel it would be a good example to the rest of the events industry if we stop to take action to change our impact on the environment."
Earlier this summer, fellow London clubs Oval Space and The Pickle Factory announced they'll be going plastic-free as part of their increased sustainability efforts.
