Del Lumanta's debut on Room40's A Guide To Saints label, Preparations, is out this week.
The Sydney artist's release is composed of four tracks that work between ambient and noise music. The A-side of the record is taken from this year's performances at the Sydney festival Masters Of Modern Sounds, at the Art Gallery of New South Wales. These tracks are said to reflect Lumanta's questions on the conditions of institutions, and their own resulting interactions with such spaces. The flipside is an improvised recording centered on the concept of resources, recorded a few weeks later.
Del Lumanta is a producer, DJ and organizer intersecting sonic projects with community-building efforts. They also run the independent record label Paradise Daily Records and a series of free-form gigs, double vision, highlighting the work of experimental and DIY artists. Their past work includes collaborations with Klein, Aïsha Devi, Rui Ho and Le1f.
