Katie Gately has a new album on the way via Houndstooth.
Loom, the US artist's second album, is dedicated to her late mother, who died in 2018 from a rare form of cancer. At the time of her diagnosis, Gately had nearly finished a different full-length, but suddenly "didn't have the bandwidth to make that record anymore." Instead, she started work on a new LP built around her mother's favourite track, "Bracer." Loom is out February 14th, 2020.
Gately's debut album, Color, came out on Tri Angle in 2016. She also helped produce serpentwithfeet's 2018 album, soil, and has previously remixed Björk and Zola Jesus.
