  • British painter Charlotte Archer will present jungle and drum & bass portraits in a London exhibition next month. Sound System Culture 001 will be on view in the former home of central London record store BM Soho (FKA Black Market) on December 12th. It will feature a mix of drum & bass and jungle heroes, like Roni Size, Fabio & Grooverider, Shy FX, Goldie, LTJ Bukem, Andy C and more. "Being London born and bred, it not only holds a special place in my heart, but it makes so much sense because of what London means to this genre of music," Archer says. "I wanted to paint a collection that had meaning; with the DJs who feature in my pieces and how they have shaped the drum & bass landscape, I hope I have managed to achieve that." 15 percent of proceeds will be donated to Jumping Jack Frost's 6-year-old nephew Denny, who is fighting leukaemia and is crowdfunding to pay for his treatment. You can donate directly to Denny's campaign here. See a few of the portraits.
