- The cofounder of cult space rockers Brainticket and celebrated library musician was 81.
Joel Vandroogenbroeck has died.
The Belgian composer and multi-instrumentalist died December 23rd aged 81. Classically trained as a pianist in his early years, his first credits were in the early '60s with jazz groups such as the Eje Thelins Quintet.
Vandroogenbroeck later founded the cult-favourite psych rock group Brainticket before embarking on a long career making library music, most notably under aliases like Eric Vann and VDB Joel on the Coloursound label.
