  • Ryuichi Sakamoto has scored a short film, Staggering Girl. Out this Valentine's Day, the Japanese composer's soundtrack for the Luca Guadagnino film will land on Milan Records. As quoted in Pitchfork, Sakamoto says, "When approaching the score for The Staggering Girl, I wanted to incorporate the tactile sound of Valentino's fabrics. So I asked them to send me some samples and utilizing special sensitive microphones, I experimented 'playing' the fabrics. I love the sound and how it forces one's attention to a sound all around us, yet almost entirely ignored." Ryuichi Sakamoto has scored a number of films and television shows throughout his career. Most recently he produced the soundtrack for Black Mirror episode "Smithereens" in 2018, and in 2016, he scored the Japanese film Rage, both released on Milan Records.
