  • Jimi Tenor will release a retrospective compilation called NY, Hel, Barca on Bureau B in March. The 20-track set spans the period between 1994 and 2001, in which the diverse Finnish artist—real name Lassi Lehto—became a key part of the Sähkö roster. To release Tenor's music, the label started launched a sub-imprint called Puu, that handled Tenor's debut LP, Sähkömies, as well as the 1995 album, Europa. Tenor's first hit, "Take Me Baby," led to a three-album deal with Warp Records, encompassing 1999's Organism, 2000s Out Of Nowhere and 2001's Utopian Dream. During the period covered on NY, Hel, Barca, Tenor lived in each of the cities abbreviated in the title—in the '90s, the Sähkö crew moved to Barcelona en masse before returning to Helsinki. NY, Hel, Barca looks over this prolific era of Tenor's career, in which he combined jazz, house, Afrobeat and plenty more. Listen to Jimi Tenor's RA Exchange.
