- Music For Film collects material the Polish composer wrote over the past 12 years.
Ghostly International is putting out the next album from Polish composer Jacaszek.
Music For Film is meant to highlight the overlap between Jacaszek's original albums and his work in film. The LP features music from the 2017 Rainer Sarnet short November, where Jacaszek was asked to compose music for an imaginary scenario—"a dark fairytale-like movie about love in old Estonian pagan times"—rather than scenes from the movie itself.
Other selections are taken from the 2019 documentary Dreams Of Giants and the 2008 special Golgota Wrocławska. These various bits of soundtrack and score work have been sequenced into a cohesive album.
Jacaszek's last Ghostly album, Kwiaty, was built around the Renaissance-era poetry of Robert Herrick. He first appeared on the label with his well-received 2011 LP, Glimmer.
