The French government has shut down the festival set to begin on March 14th.
The French edition of the Belgian festival giant was set to begin next weekend, on March 14th, and run through the 21st.
"It is with a heavy heart that we have to inform you that the French government has decided to cancel this year's edition," the festival announced today. "Since Saturday we were in close contact with the French government about the impact of the COVID-19 virus (coronavirus) and we finally received their official decision."
This follows last night's cancellation of Miami's Ultra Music Festival, initially planned for March 20th through 22nd, also due to the coronavirus. Festivals, venues and promoters across Asia have also had to put plans on hold or scrap them altogether, while Northern Italy is currently under lock down, drastically affecting the local nightlife industry. A July 2020 Paris event with Ricardo Villalobos has also been postponed.
