  • Amsterdam's Red Light Radio is closing next month. In a statement posted on social media, the station said it had "always been aware" its Oudekerksplein location was temporary, but the global pandemic had "accelerated the inevitable goodbye." The final broadcast is scheduled for Saturday, June 27th. "How exactly the studio closing will take place is still unclear and depends on the national COVID-19 measures," the station said in its statement. Once its studio closes, Red Light Radio said in July it will move into a "new home base" along with Redlight Records at the nearby RLR AMS Shop. "This move means we'll no longer present a daily radio program," the statement said, but future events would include "listening sessions and get-togethers," and Red Light Radio planned to continue broadcasting from live events and festivals. Red Light Radio, which opened in 2010, hosted regular shows from local DJs and crews (Dekmantel, Cinnaman, San Proper, Margie, Lullabies For Insomniacs) alongside guest slots from international DJs.
