  • Everyone's soul needs a little nuturing sometimes and consequently we can seek out accompanying music that gives room for our thoughts, or a space to indulge in dreaming. Velure provide the perfect music for this with their downbeat, trip hop, dub style. Their music is a provocative bouquet of vocals, accordion, analogue synthesisers, guitars, bass and live programming. 'Care For Fading Embers' is the group's debut album, available now through Shock Recordings. Making the album was no easy feat for the group. The album started as a collaboration with Norwegian Producer Erik Lloyd Wolkoff (Portishead, Coldplay, Café del Mar), whose attention the group secured during a show at Sydney’s legendary Hopetoun club. During the first few months of recording, Wolkoff died suddenly, leaving the group to realise their vision alone. The resulting album reflects the all the emotion, passion, beauty and sadness of the long journey to its completion, and will be dedicated to Erik’s memory. 'Care For Fading Embers' is definately one of the surprise releases of the year, and will be appreciated by those who like bands like Portishead and Massive Attack. Click through to our review of the album below. You can catch Velure and sample their tunes as they undertake an east-coast tour throughout November.
