  • Rinse FM and Seoul Community Radio (SCR) have revealed details of a monthly collaboration. The partnership, which begins on July 18th, will see SCR take over Rinse on the first Saturday of each month. Rinse will in turn handle programming on SCR on the second Tuesday of each month. The broadcasts will be aired simultaneously across both stations' radio, audio and video platforms, as well as Rinse's affiliated station Rinse France. The stations say they hope the collab will "broaden horizons and introduce new sounds to each station's separate audiences." "Our favourite thing about this residency exchange is that it further scales up our aim to get more deserved exposure to calibre Korean and Asian artists outside our own region," said SCR's head of content Ju-hwan You, AKA DJ Bowlcut. "That it's with an O.G. pioneer of underground music like Rinse with an established audience makes it even more exciting." "Birthed amidst the flourishing pirate radio era, Rinse's purpose has always been to highlight and give a voice to underground communities," said Rinse in a statement. "Seeing more of these communities arise around the world, we feel it's our duty to keep on pushing these with strong and relevant local partners and truthfully, we could not have wished for a better match with SCR." The programme will launch on Saturday, July 18th from midday BST with a four-hour launch from SCR's studio featuring Seoul-based artists Fallens, Apachi, Ana Kim and Salamanda. You can also tune into classic RA Exchanges on Rinse FM every Wednesday from 4 PM BST. Listen to the 2016 RA Exchange with Rinse founder Geeneus.
