  • A new queer-owned livestream, Community Bread, is launching this weekend. Kicking off on Saturday, July 25th, the virtual platform will host international DJs alongside two artist discussions, each centering "otherness, collaboration and community." The event will collect donations for not only the performing artists, but also the Trans Women of Color Collective, an organization devoted to redistributing resources to trans women of color. DJs slated to play are Jasmine Infiniti, Mike Servito, Cali Rose, as well as MCMLXXXV, Xiorro and Memphy. Artist conversations will start with video director Andrew Thomas Huang, focusing on the impact of queerness and Asian identity on his work. That discussion will be followed by a talk with Hecha and Make Techno Black Again, addressing ways to reformat marketing for human connection, collaboration and community. Aside from virtual programming, the platform also provides a directory of resources for Black Lives Matter-related organizations, and artists undergoing economic setbacks due to the pandemic. See the event listing below.
