  • Ukrainian drum & bass legend Sunchase has released a new album called Timeline. Out now on new Kyiv-based label Kashtan Records, the LP is Alexander Pavlenko's first since his debut, Static Nitro, in 2010. Spanning 13 tracks, it nods to drum & bass, IDM and dubstep. "In 2010 I moved from Dnipro to Kyiv, which undoubtedly influenced the sound of this album," Pavlenko says. "I often used a dictaphone to record kalimba, percussion, voices and more, taking inspiration from nature and its beauty, or the weather. Timeline is an album of moods and a musical reflection of a period of my life." Pavlenko began releasing music as Sunchase in 2004. Over the years, he has worked with legendary drum & bass labels such as Moving Shadow, Metalheadz and Hospital Records offshoot Med School. Kashtan is the new label from Vera Logdanidi, cofounder of the Kyiv party and label Rhythm Büro. Listen to clips of Timeline.
