  • DJ Kid Kenobi is set to extend his profile nationally as he takes over the microphone and mixing desk at Triple J. He'll be hosting the first hour of ‘Mix-up’, which is broadcast every Saturday night on Australia’s leading "youth station". Kid Kenobi has helped carve the direction of dance music around Australia through his regular appearances in Sydney, interstate tours with MC Shureshock and compilation CDs such as Clubbers Guide To Breaks. He'll be playing an hour of his freshest tunes in the lead up to triple j’s cult followed ‘Mix-up’ every Saturday Night. Mix-up plays specially recorded mix sets by Australian and international DJs. Last week featured guest Lee Burridge in the studio, while upcoming sets will feature Tiefschwarz, Carl Cox, Krafty Kuts and Boca 45. Triple J program director Chris Scaddan said “We’re really excited to have one of Australia’s most loved DJs as a part of the triple J team. Kid Kenobi has an ear for good dance tunes like no other, he always has the best new records in his box. He’s a great radio presenter and we’re ecstatic to have him kicking off Mix Up for the whole of Australia every Saturday night.’ Kid Kenobi said “I’m really honoured to have the opportunity to work again with Triple J. I’m really looking forward to pushing some fresh new sounds onto the airwaves.” Tune into Kid Kenobi on Mix Up each Saturday from 9pm, kicking off this Saturday 21 January.
