  • Hotflush Recordings, the highly influential label run by Scuba, is celebrating its 20th anniversary with a flurry of releases. The run of new music starts today, January 27th, with the release of "Opposites," a collaborative single from Scuba and dubstep favourite Distance. The label has eight more releases lined up between now and April, including three new singles and four mixed compilations of both classic and unreleased material. These include collaborations between Scuba and Nikki Nair and Roska. A Hotflush world tour is also in the pipeline—more details to follow—while Scuba's weekly Not A Diving Podcast recently hit the one-year mark. Future guests include Gilles Peterson, Bradley Zero and Tijana T. "What Hotflush is, really hasn't changed that much in two decades," said Scuba. "It's a place to release my own music, and other music that I like, without much thought for anything else. I am hugely and eternally grateful to everyone who has contributed to the label, through music, artwork, administration or just buying and listening to the music itself. You have, and this is no exaggeration, made my life worth living." Launched in 2003, Hotflush is one of the most important dance music labels of the last two decades. It's responsible for classic tracks–such as Paul Woolford's "Untitled", Dense & Pika's "Colt" and "Hyph Mngo" by Joy Orbison–plus a slew of memorable releases from the likes of Mount Kimbie, George FitzGerald, Locked Groove and Or:la. Listen to "Opposites."
