  • Dino Gardiakos, the owner of Chicago club Spybar, has been accused of smugglings drugs, abc7 reports. On March 13th, Gardiakos, who is 43, was allegedly found in possession of 6.3kg of ketamine and 5.8g of ecstasy at Chicago's O'Hare International Airport. He was traveling back home from London when officers found six containers with the substances. According to WGN9, the nightlife boss admitted to buying the drugs, being taught how to bring them through customs by his supplier and having the intent to sell. He received various drug charges, including trafficking of a controlled substance and possession of a controlled substance. "The staff, management and the operating owner of Spybar are shocked and saddened by the allegations against and arrest of Spybar co-owner Dino Gardiakos," Spybar wrote in a public statement on March 15th. "We're currently working with our team of professionals to ensure that Spybar deals with this issue swiftly and thoroughly." Gardiakos was released from custody on Thursday, March 14th, on pre-trial probation. Prosecutors said he was already on probation for felony drug charges. He's set to appear in court on April 5th.
