  • UK label Ninja Tune is conducting an internal investigation into recent allegations levelled at CEO Adrian Kemp. In a statement sent to staff seen by Resident Advisor, Ninja Tune confirmed that Kemp will take a "step back" from his role for the duration of the investigation, which is being undertaken by an "independent third-party HR." There's no mention of the nature of the allegations. Head of marketing Samantha Sissons and head of marketing operations Tess Kendall have stepped forward in his absence with immediate effect. "The outcome of the investigation will be made available upon completion subject to any legal barriers," the statement continued. "Adrian will continue to work in support of Sam and Tess but with a lower profile." Founded in 1990 in London, Ninja Tune is one of dance music's most successful independent labels. Kemp has been at the label for 20-plus years and CEO since 2017, according to Companies House. We'll report more on this story as it develops.
