  • A new drug-safety initiative has been launched in the UK. Safer States aims to support UK nightlife by providing vital harm-reduction information and challenging the stigma around drugs. The project will offer life-saving information around popular recreational drugs such as MDMA, cocaine, ketamine and nitrous oxide. Safer States has been launched by a coalition of nightlife groups: the Good Night Out Campaign, drug law charity Release, queer welfare charity Safe Only Ltd and wellbeing non-profit The Love Tank. "Most of the harms around drug use can be reduced if people are given the information and tools to stay safe," said Release's Andre Gomes. "And while our government continues to criminalise drugs and people's ability to ensure their wellbeing, we need to step up our game and protect our own community."
