  • The British Library is hosting a new exhibition on Black British music. Running from April 26th through August 26th, Beyond the Bassline: 500 Years of Black British Music is a celebration of the trailblazers and innovators that brought new music to the UK. Across more than 200 exhibits, the exhibition spotlights everyone from 18th-century composer Ignatius Sancho through to SB.TV's Jamal Edwards. Alongside the exhibition, there will be a programme of performances and talks taking place at the library, featuring artists such as Soul II Soul, Touching Bass and Jamz Supernova. An accompanying book of the same name, introduced by the exhibition's curators, Dr. Aleema Gray and Mykaell Riley, and edited by music journalist Paul Bradshaw, is being released to coincide with the exhibition launch. Find out more about the exhibition, and the book.
