The German electronic duo close the book on their project with a CD compilation of rare remixes. ‘Appendix’ will be released later this month.
Funkstörung, aka Michael Fakesch and Chris de Luca, concentrated heavily on remix work during their career: two of their five albums are collections of remixes with clients including big names (Jean-Michel Jarre, Wu-Tang Clan, Björk) and small (The Notwist, Tocotronic).
For ‘Appendix’, Funkstörung combed through their master tapes and computer files looking for rare remixes and B-sides to release before shutting up shop for good. The compliation includes previously unreleased remixes of Spacek and Enik as well as previously issued Björk, Towa Tei and Lamb remixes.
Both Fakesch and de Luca will continue making music with their respective solo projects.
