- House and techno, and hopefully no WWF wrestling, are on the bill at this year’s huge AM Only party. Better book your table at Denny’s because this one goes until 1 p.m. on Saturday. The party happens on three fronts: a main room spinning house (DJ Dan, David Guetta, Fedde Le Grand), a terrace spinning electro, minimal and techno (Steve Bug, Richie Hawtin, Magda, Tiga, Loco Dice, Misstress Barbara, Green Velvet) and a glass room spinning eighties and hip-hop (DJ Dan, Donald Glaude, Escort). Check RA Events for the full lineup (and this time we really mean full.) But be on your best behaviour: the security staff at Nocturnal are more used to hip-hop crowds than loved-up techno fans. Last year was notorious for a bit of the old ultraviolence directed at slim but feisty techno star Richie Hawtin, who in 2006 took on twelve of the scariest bouncers in America and ended up still alive. RA asked Richie if he was looking forward to round two of Rumble in the Swamp. “When I was young my mom taught me to always stand up to bullies and don’t let them get the best of you,” says Hawtin. “This year I am coming with a lot of bigger friends. I also spent the last six months furiously learning karate.” AM Only happens at Nocturnal in downtown Miami on March 23, 2007.
