  • Progressive house producer Habersham has engineered a collection of loops and sounds for budding producers. 'Sound Theory 01' is the first release in a new sample series from digital download store ResonantVibes.com. The 670MB collection includes ready-made sounds engineered to work in both studio and live environments such as drum and synth loops, effect and ambience sounds, pads, bass and synth stabs, as well as individual drum hits. The first installment has been engineered by American producer Habersham aka Damon Fonooni, who has released on progressive labels such as Bedrock, Audio Therapy and Global Underground. "The variety of sounds spans all forms of electronic music and are intended to be used to write dance, IDM and abstract, house, techno, breaks and drum and bass," says Fonooni. "I hope these will give you the inspiration and foundation for whatever type of sound creation you shall pursue, whether it’s writing beautiful textures and ambient soundtracks or gnarly, tweaked-out twisted electronica." Budding producers can download a free demo pack of Sound Theory 01 as well as stream a Habersham mix made using loops and sounds from the collection. Resonant Vibes is also running a competition where contestants are invited to create a track solely using sounds from the 'SoundTheory 01' collection. The winner will have their track digitally released on Habersham's Lobotomy Records as well as receive a Roland SP-404 portable sampler and a Behringer BCR2000 USB MIDI Controller. The runners up will get their track promoted on the store as well as receive store credit. 'Sound Theory 01' by Habersham is now available from ResonantVibes.com.
