MoMA's annual Warm Up is one of New York’s best summer afternoon parties, pitting dance music against upstart architecture in a season that runs Saturday afternoons from June 30th to September 1st. This year's environment shapers is Los Angeles firm Ball-Nogues, who promise party-goers an interactive landscape complete with a colorful awning of Mylar petals.
But the music is the true focus of Warm Up, and this year highlights include an Objektivity party with legendary local Dennis Ferrer and his teenage protégés the Martinez Brothers, as well as a DFA-ish opening party featuring Tim Goldsworthy, Tim Sweeney, Shit Robot and The Juan Maclean. If you’re nowhere near New York, you can also catch each show streamed live on Art Radio WPS1.org, with added artist/DJ interviews. Broadcasts will also be archived on WPS1.org for maximum accessibility.
