- Tech house mainstay John Tejada mixes up the Palette back catalogue for Japanese club night Real Grooves.
Tech house mainstay John Tejada mixes up the Palette back catalogue for Japanese club night Real Grooves. Real Grooves Navigation 02 arrives mid-January.
Real Grooves has been bringing big and soon-to-be-big names in minimal/tech house to Tokyo institution Spacelab Yellow since 2003, often picking up on acts such as Luciano, Cobblestone Jazz, Pier Bucci and Dandy Jack ahead of the pack. Next up for the long-running club night is a second volume in its compilation series, launched last year by Cynosure chief and Real Grooves regular Mike Shannon.
On Real Grooves Navigation 02, two-time RG invite John Tejada gets behind the decks to mix up cuts from Palette Recordings, the chief output for much of his original works these days. The single CD mix includes Tejada's tech house classic 'Mono on Mono', material from his 2006 longplayer Cleaning Sounds is a Filthy Business as well as recent twelves made with Arian Leviste and Justin Maxwell. Looks like a neat intro to both Palette and Tejada mixed with precision by the man himself.
