- The End is hosting a night of battle disco, breaks and house in aid of Chew The Fat! top dog Paul 'Trouble' Arnold. Last November Chew The Fat! fans were the shocked to learn that Arnold, the mastermind behind the long-running breaks'n'house night, had been diagnosed with leukaemia. Following chemotherapy, the label head, promoter and jack-of-all-trades is on the road to full recovery, and to cheer him on some of the biggest names in breaks and house are coming together next Wednesday. The line-up in the main room reads like a Breakspoll voting form: Plumps take on Stanton, Krafty Kuts spar with Freestylers, Evil Nine clash with Elite Force, Tayo goes to (dub) war with Baobinga. The combat also continues over in AKA, this time on a house tip with James Zabiela and Nic Fanciulli reviving their One+One tag team show, and Serge Santiago matching Heidi. For Northerners, there's a Leeds (Paul Woolford) and Liverpool (Yousef) face-off. Elsewhere in the lounge, expect jackin' house and dirty basslines aplenty from fidget house all-stars Speakerjunk, Count of Monte Cristal and Sinden as well as a discofied deep house rumble between Toby Tobias, Diesel and Ali Tillett. All that's left to do? Keep score. Chew The Fat! are asking for a minimum donation of 10 quid on the door with all proceeds going to a special recovery fund for Paul Arnold.
