- The Polish producer will drop Chronicles of Never in October.
Polish DJ/producer Marcin Czubala will release his debut album for the Mobilee label in October.
Czubala has released a trio of singles for the label in the past two years—and has one on the way in advance of the album, as well—with a sound that has been characterized as "slinky, bouncy, and full of mystery and seduction." We believe it, based on an initial listen of Chronicles of Never, which shakes and shimmers its way through ten tracks of deep, melodic techno. Lead single "Berolina" is an obvious highlight, mixing a voice letting us know that our "eyes are intense" and a wayward horn that likely is meant to evoke the train that the track is named after.
Then again, as Czubala tells it, "The advantage of electronic music is its freedom from interpretation. I'm not giving you a painting, just the brush and the paints. Chronicles of Never is the chronicle of an imaginary place. Your place." So maybe we should just lay off the theorizing and let the music do the talking.
