  • As you likely already know, RA has plenty of writers with plenty of opinions. That's why we started Critics Roundtable, a regular Exchange podcast in which we sit down with some of the site's contributors—and some guest experts—to talk about electronic music. In our latest edition, we tackled three topics. First up is UK techno. Veteran DJ, producer and promoter Kirk Degiorgio joined us to talk about the concept behind his and Ben Sims' Machine series of parties, which focus exclusively on new music. We then took a broader look at the vitality of the scene in 2012. Next up, we—Ryan Keeling, Stephen Titmus, Benji Lehman—side-stepped the gloomy air that has hung over the UK festival market this year to talk about some of our favourite events this past summer. And finally: there seems to be a New York /New Jersey garage house revival going on in London and the UK right now. We discussed some of the key proponents of the sound and ask whether or not all these retro vibes are a good thing for the scene.
