We geek out with the veteran US producer, live at this year's Mutek festival.
It's safe to say that John Tejada was in his element when we sat down to chat with him at this year's Mutek in Montreal. The festival's focus upon live electronic music is something Tejada, who has been playing live since 1994, can easily identify with. Since starting out he's developed a reputation as a meticulous producer, who thinks deeply about his craft both in the live arena and in the studio. This approach has yielded around 20 albums over the years, with his most recent full-lengths seeing a release on German label Kompakt. Both Tejada's working methods and the dance music album format were key topics of conversation as RA's Andrew Ryce spoke to him at the festival earlier this month.
