When LaSonique was born, three wise men, much to her parents dismay, prophesized that the little girl they held in their arms, was born to party. Two decades later, the echos of this prophecy could be heard as her passion for music and clubbing first became evident during the 1990's rave scene explosion in the humble underground scene of New Zealand's infamous "K Road". Over the years she partied and danced her way around the world : Australia to London, New York to San Francisco, Eastern Europe to Amsterdam, and all the cities, villages, mountains, lakes, deserted deserts and monasteries in between. Five months in the legendary Ibiza was put on the world tour map for good measure.
Her parents asked her when she was going to get a job, she told them she was going to DJ.
All those years of "industry experience from a clubbers perspective" has given her a love of deep, dark, dirty basslines and an intuitive understanding of what rocks the dancefloor, and makes an unforgettable party. That, coupled with her driving ambition, determination and charm have landed her repeat guest appearance slots on primetime radio (both in New Zealand and Europe), a residency in Auckland's uber-trendy Khyber Pass, gigs in London's superchic Platinum Bar, invitations to spin at festivals in Scotland, Brazil and Portugal. And this is just the beginning. 2009 will see LaSonique setting up headquarters in Barcelona where she will spend the year focusing on developing her DJ and music production skills and collaborating with other producers, dj's, vdj artists, dancers, entertainers and entrepreneurs before another world tour and relocation to Tokyo.
